Una linea di terra e una linea di cielo sono già un paesaggio, un fondale, una quinta, forse un deserto verticale da percorrere con lo sguardo e in esso perdersi. Gaetano Paraggio con queste fotografie, allude alla fuga e allo sconfinamento partendo dalla soglia, dal limite visibile e ci invita ad andare oltre, ad allontanarci dal dato certo, visibile e concreto e affrontare rotte sconosciute, forse azzardate. Le fughe all’orizzonte ti aiutano a superare il limite, penetrare l’opacità abbacinante di quell’aria, potenziare le sensibilità e assaporare fino in fondo l’ebbrezza dello smarrimento. Una deriva controllata però, mai definitiva, da cui si può rientrare in ogni momento, guidati e rassicurati da sparute, periferiche presenze che Gaetano non ha mancato di sottolineare e di raccomandare all’occhio come entità oggettuali a cui riferirsi nella evanescenza di una riva senza nome che è confine e partenza ma anche approdo.

The horizon escapes help you exceed the limit, penetrate the blinding haze of that air, enhance sensitivity and enjoy to the full the thrill of the loss. But a controlled drift, never final, from which you can return at any time, guided and reassured by haggard, attendance devices that Gaetano did not fail to point out and to recommend to the eye as object entities to refer to the evanescence of a bank without name that is the border and departure but also a point.
